Fed: Crean douses speculation as holiday comes to abrupt end

CANBERRA, Jan 10 AAP - On his first day back on the job, Opposition Leader Simon Creanwas forced to douse speculation over a major frontbench reshuffle and defend his tacticson Iraq.
Labor refused to fuel a report that the party's bovver boy Mark Latham would be elevatedto treasury spokesman to go head-to-head against Peter Costello.
The treasurer gave his trademark smirk when asked his thoughts on facing Mr Lathamin parliament instead of the ALP's current treasury spokesman, the softly-spoken Bob McMullan.
Mr Latham was on leave and could not be reached …
