A recent report said that Egypt has taken various steps to spreadtheuse of e-commerce, one of the most recent trade trends to sweepthrough theworld, in order to enhance Egypt's trade, both locally andin foreign markets.The report, submitted to Minister of Foreign TradeYoussef Boutros Ghali,adds that the trend is on the rise in Egyptthanks to the increase in thenumber of Internet users, following theintroduction of free Internet accesson January 1, 2002. The reportstates that the Egyptian International Trade Point (EITP)has adoptedan ambitious plan in a serious bid to make the best use ofe-commercefor boosting the country's exports to foreign markets. Thehead ofEITP, Mustafa Said, says that he has been working hard to spreade-commerce by setting up sub trade points (TPs) in theEgyptiangovernorates, as well as organizing training courses on e-payment ande-signature, together with securing data on the Internet.
